rules

basics.

• this community is age restricted due to adult content. by joining, you agree that you are a legal age to participate (18+).
• be respectful, be patient, exercise compassion and kindness.
• communicate! but if that fails, contact the mods, and we'll mediate.
• respect your fellow writer's boundaries. if someone wants to fade to black, or avoid certain topics, don't push.
• don't mix in character and out of character opinions, conflicts, or knowledge.
• in character actions have in character consequences. try to consider your character's actions beforehand to avoid potentially uncomfortable situations.
• think of the mods as game masters (or dungeon masters if you're familiar with d&d). we're here to facilitate, but the lore at large is a community effort!
• with that in mind, please run any major plots (anything that affects the station or governments) by the mods first.
• no godmoding, power-playing, or metagaming. be mindful of what your character knows and doesn't know.
• in order to avoid potential triggers, we've chosen to ban content involving human trafficking, slavery, addiction, sexual or domestic violence, self-harm, suicide, animal abuse, discrimination, and hate speech.
• mark sensitive content with content warnings – including content that is nsfw.
• toxic and bullying behavior will see you removed from the community.

joining.

• follow the steps outlined here. pbs must be 18+ years old. due to the nature of the community, however, we won't be enforcing the 5 year rule. any changes to pbs must be requested through the members post.
• before joining, please write a 100 word blurb or bio of your character. it can be any details of your character – whether it's their history, personality, or facts. we're hoping to see your grasp on who the character is.
• you can play human or alien characters from existing or new locations. if you have any questions about the existing lore, don't hesitate to contact us.
• if you want to introduce a new faction, planet, or galaxy, please write a short blurb about it. the mods might ask you to tweak a couple of details if strictly necessary.
• as everyone has different preferences, we won't base admission on following a particular aesthetic, whether it's icons, capitalization, or journals. with that in mind, icons and layouts are not considered ic knowledge.
• we won't be enforcing a character limit, but please only take as many as you can handle.
• adds: every friday; removals: monthly & pending activity check.

activity.

• customs are optional, and only the roleplaying that happens within the friends page and the community counts towards activity. we want to encourage you to make private communications between characters open to others to better enjoy character growth and strengthen the sense of community; however, it's not required.
• we ask for 1 piece of activity per month. in order to foster collaborative writing, it must be 1 finished or in progress scene with another writer posted in the community with a minimum of 5 replies. if preferred, other options are to post 2 narratives, run a community-wide event, or post 2 open starters.
• social media posts will not count as activity; however, you may do them at your leisure.
• update your flist at least once every week to avoid being removed for inactivty.
• we understand everyone needs to disengage from time to time, so you may take as many hiatuses as you need. we still ask you to submit an open scene with another writer and have your flist updated by the end of the month to avoid being considered inactive.
