alien races
artiodiens
- humanoid, but not human passing.
- a semi-aquatic mammalian race native to canesĂşn. while not able to breathe underwater, they are able to hold their breath for an extended amount of time.
- the backs of their shoulders—extending to the buttocks and sometimes thighs, or even their faces—are a dark blue with a white, star-like pattern, similar to manta rays.
- likewise, they have "wings" between their ribcage and upper arms, as well as webbing between their fingers and toes.
- they have their own language of "clicks," which can be used not just to communicate over long distances, but to stun adversaries...though with enough control, the vibrations created by these clicks can range from relaxing to very relaxing...
cristans
- human passing.
- possess additional appendages known as "espectro," which issue from a starlike organ on their lower backs.
- these are temporary limbs that allow the crista to navigate their surroundings, even in complete darkness, or on steep inclines.
- espectro texture, color, and form differ from crista to crista, but always remain the same within an individual. most crista are only able to materialize two espectro, but it is said that in the past, some were able to manifest up to nine.
- most have orange, red, or yellow eyes.
ecliptorians
- a reclusive alien race known mostly by name and their mystery.
- they possess an innate connection to the celestial energies that permeate the universe, granting them powers of energy manipulation and invisibility.
- current day, the race appears to keep to themselves, it is said that they don't tolerate immigration of outsiders. in some interstellar communities ecliptorians are viewed with caution and suspicion.
tan'yns
- a humanoid-reptilian race of sentients.
- their bodies are covered in super soft scales of varying sizes and colors—the larger plates sometimes even resemble mammalian skin.
- they also possess hollow horns that act as a second set of ears, picking up frequencies that their actual ears can't catch. the shape of their horns tends to run in the family, but shape and size vary greatly within the populace.
- their scales are very cold to the touch, but their internal temperatures is surprisingly hot, and there are rumors that they might even be able to breathe fire.
- they have a poisonous bite, which at a low envenomation can cause a mild sense of euphoria.
tĂłsu
- humanoid, but not human passing.
- arterial paths have a faint rainbow glow, and limbal rings also glow in the dark. when experiencing heightened emotion, these colors change to illustrate the emotion.
- can pick up not just scents, but body heat and certain energy signatures related to heightened emotions, and are able to produce pheromones for self-protection and mating.
- they also possess a very sensitive sense of taste and are known throughout the universe as exceptionally picky eaters.
t'ryérens
- humanoid, but not human passing.
- have leporidae-like ears on the top of their heads and no canine teeth (they are obligate herbivores).
- body hair tends to be soft and silky like fur, and they naturally produce more hair than other species all over their bodies.
- heightened senses, especially sense of hearing—can place objects in a room by sound waves alone.
- "marble" eyes (a form of heterochromia) are common; and hair color ranges in shades of black, blue, green, pink-blond, and silver.
- average lifespan is upwards of 175 (earth) years.
vidyadhara
- human passing.
- a mono-gendered species, distinctly masculine in appearance.
- the language of the vidyadhara is entirely devoid of pronouns, but most adopt he/him when speaking common.
- they possess extended lifespans lasting up to a millennium.
- through skin-on-skin contact, they can meld minds with others, whether they belong to their species or not, sharing memories, thoughts, and feelings.
- they are born able to wield five elements (earth, water, fire, wind, and aether). generally, they are born with an affinity for two of them and ineptitude for one. the ability to manipulate aether is extremely rare
- to reproduce, they meld minds with other vidyadhara or sentient beings, creating flower-shaped cocoons with their elemental abilities. they are known to become highly territorial until the birth of their offspring.
